Let’s showcase the joy of plein air painting ( painting from life or in the open air / outdoors) during the 9th annual Culture Days!

The Plein Air Painters of Regina events entitled “Painting the Heartbeat of the City” are on theme too! “On Beat” is the theme this year for Culture Days. Events will be held across Canada and featured on http://www.culturedays.ca social media! Our events will be inspired by the rhythms and beats of http://www.boomtowndrums.com, a Colombian Samba Dancer, the Farmer’s Market and our city oasis Wascana Park.

Friday evening’s event features the following performers with plein air painters capturing the “Heart beat” of the event….

Drummer: Mauricio Bedoya

Dancers: Yamiley and her daughter Nahia

Performers: Yamiley Tobón and Mauricio Bedoya

Summary: Nahia combines drums, traditional and contemporary dance, capoeira and circus. The performers use some folklorical grooves from the Caribbean and coasts of Colombia as Cumbia and Mapale; also, they use some brazilian rythms as Samba and Baio. These grooves are a mixture of African, European and Indigenous cultures. Based on such rich diversity, the performers create a lively mix with many forms, movements, and traditions.

Create, collaborate or just observe. Its up to you! See links below for full details. It’s a great opportunity to meet others in the community, share our passion for plein air and showcase our art! Be sure to RSVP at these links to reserve your spot as space is limited.
