REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Sept. 26th, 2017

DESCRIPTION: Throughout art history, artists have used copper as a durable substrate for painting and have even used the glint of applied metallic leaf to add a mystic quality to their work. In this class you will learn various techniques to add the reflective quality of metallic leaf to a substrate and prepare it to receive acrylic paint. Other techniques will also be presented.

DATES: Tuesdays, Oct. 3rd – Nov. 7th, 2017; 9 am – noon

WHAT TO DO WITH ACRYLIC MEDIUMS 2

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Oct. 19th, 2017

DESCRIPTION: Learn what to do with matt medium, clear gesso and crackle paste mediums. This class is a stand alone class. There is no prerequisite. It is a continuation in a session from session #1 taught last year in that we are continuing with 3 new acrylic mediums! Acrylic mediums are designed to work with your acrylic paints to expand your creative potential. We will explore a new acrylic medium’s possibilities every 2 weeks and apply this to your choice of still life, abstract or landscape subject matter. We will also work with ventilation tape, rubbing alcohol and stamping to add interesting textural effects! As a bonus we will also be learning how to stretch our own canvases!

DATES: Thursdays; Oct. 26th – Nov. 30th, 2017; 9 am – noon
