I hope my students are enjoying where my creative mind takes me when I am asked to submit proposals for art classes at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre in Regina! It has been over a year now since I began teaching there with the great team for the City of Regina at one of Regina’s most established Art Instruction Facilities!

The Cafe Sketchbook Tour – Thurs, May 25th – June 29th, 2017 (1 – 3 pm)

Description: Learn different sketchbook techniques to capture ideas for later inspiration. We will visit different coffee houses in Regina to sketch indoors or on their outdoor patios, weather permitting. Our first stop will be the Mercury Cafe on 13th Avenue. Subsequent locations will be discussed at each class. This class I designed was the original inspiration for my painting holidays I now lead to France and Cuba.

Description:As this is Canada’s 150th year, it is fitting to explore works by the Canadian Group of Seven and their exploration of what form of Art was best befitting of Canada as a new nation independent of European Art influences. Each day we will learn a bit more about the group and this art movement while completing a study each day of one of their paintings in acrylic! This is a step by step class suitable for beginners and those with some acrylic experience. Registration opens May 9th, 2017

Summer Plein Air – M- F July 24 – 28th, 2017; 9 am – noon

Description: Have you ever wanted to paint en plein air? This class will help you learn how to edit the vast amount of information that can be overwhelming when painting outdoors. You can work in a medium with which you are familiar – either acrylic, graphite, or watercolour and ink pen. Registration begins May 9th, 2017.
