I am happy to once again have been invited to participate in “Art in the Park” in the beautiful Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Sask. side as a Guest Artist in Residence. I invite you to come see my newest artwork at the artists’cabin just up the hill from the Big Dipper Ice Cream Shack. in the park and join in the art classes I will be teaching there. See poster for full details. This year all classes are available for a donation thanks to funding by the Sask. Arts Board, Sask Culture, Sask. Lotteries, The Friends of Cypress Hills Inc. and Sask. Parks.
We will be learning about a few of the creatures in the park and a few new methods used with acrylic painting; using rubbing alcohol for textural effects and saran wrap. In another class we will be learning about the Great Sand Hills an area near the park that my family has always loved to visit. Play with buckets of sand from the actual dunes in the sand art frame or make a dessert art with coloured craft sand! You will want to bring a camera to capture your art created in the sand frame as the sand will be returned eventually to their ecologically fragile sand dunes.
