Jan. – Mar. 2014 Intermediate Grumbacher Acrylic Class Calendar with Sask. artist Nikki Jacquin

I have been teaching beginner classes at Michaels for 3 years now in Regina for a paint manufacturer out of the states called Grumbacher. About a year ago I began introductory level classes there as well. By the way any  one is welcome to these. We work larger and have a few new colours and brushes to use but the same step by step approach is used to help you succeed. You will also learn how I take a photo resource and teak it for a more pleasing composition! The images on the calendar above are photos I took at a local antique shop.

This Jan. – Mar. 2014 I decided to start a series on surface texture. I will be covering how to create the illusion of silver, gold and glass surfaces. This will continue on into April if there is interest with, how to paint copper, rust and wood grain textures.

To register visit the Regina Michaels Craft Store on Prince of Wales Dr. When you register you will be given a syllabus outlining the materials needed. Registration is appreciated at least 24 hours in advance of the class start time. It is a Michaels policy to cancel classes with fewer than 2 students registered 24 hours before the class. It is a fun family outing. In the last class I taugh a few were there as a birthday celebration activity! What ever your reason, learning anew skill is always rewarding and painting will help winter pass by more quickly. For more information call Nikki at 306-775-0925 or email artist@nikkisportraits.com
